FIV – Comitato 1^ Zona

Thanks to an agreement with the Porto Antico of Genoa, FIV promotes the use of the local water sports centre for competitive and pre-competitive training and sailing starter courses by beach sailing clubs. The water sports centre is also used for group training sessions with club crews arriving from Northern Italy. This centre also lends itself to hosting national and international events, as already happened in 2018 with the Italian Olympic Class Championships (CICO) and in 2019 with the World Series qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games. All the activities of the Italian Sailing Federation at the water sports centre are designed to promote sailing, including through new events, in view of Genoa 2024 European Capital of Sport. Hundreds of sailors come here every year to open the sailing season on the weekends in January, February and March by participating in the International Winter Contest.
